4. Browser Storage (LocalStorage & SessionStorage)

In addition to cookies, we use browser storage technologies to improve your experience:

LocalStorage

Stores data on your device with no expiration date:

  • • Command palette search history
  • • User interface preferences (sidebar collapse state, etc.)
  • • Draft message content (auto-save to prevent data loss)

SessionStorage

Stores data for the duration of your browser session:

  • • Temporary form data
  • • Navigation state within the Platform
  • • Session-specific UI settings

Unlike cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage data is never transmitted to our servers automatically. It remains on your device until you clear your browser data or the storage expires.

5. How to Control Cookies

You have several options to manage or disable cookies:

1. Cookie Preferences (Coming Soon)

We are developing a cookie consent banner that will allow you to accept or reject non-essential cookies directly on the Platform. Until then, please use your browser settings.

2. Browser Settings

All modern browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • • View which cookies are stored and delete them individually or all at once
  • • Block third-party cookies
  • • Block all cookies from specific websites
  • • Block all cookies (this will prevent many websites from working properly)
  • • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

4. Google Analytics Opt-Out

If we enable Google Analytics, you can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on:

⚠ Impact of Disabling Cookies

If you disable essential cookies, you will not be able to use the Platform as certain features require cookies to function:

  • • You will not be able to log in or stay logged in
  • • Security features will not work properly
  • • Your preferences will not be saved

6. Cookies and Children's Privacy

As a platform serving children and young people, we are committed to protecting their privacy in accordance with the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code).

Our Commitments:

We do not use cookies for profiling or targeting children
We do not use cookies to track children across other websites
We do not share cookie data with third parties for advertising purposes
Essential cookies only are used by default - no consent required
Analytics cookies (if enabled) will require explicit parental consent for under-18s
Cookie data retention is minimized and time-limited

7. Do Not Track (DNT) Signals

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked.

Our Approach: We respect DNT signals. If we detect a DNT signal from your browser, we will not use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) even if they are enabled on the Platform. Essential and functional cookies will still be used to ensure the Platform functions correctly.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal or regulatory reasons. When we make changes:

  • We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
